Date: Tuesday 11 July 2017
Time: 10:00 – 14:00
Location: Satellite Applications Catapult, Harwell Campus, Oxfordshire. OX11 0QR
Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) form an integral part of the Intelligent Mobility ecosystem, using emerging technologies to enable the smarter, greener, and more efficient movement of people or goods. However, to deliver these benefits, AVs must first demonstrate reliable and safe navigational capability. Contributing to the navigational capabilities of AVs are localisation and processing technologies, spatial reference information, and connectivity. Identifying the correct blend of these capabilities remains a significant challenge.
The ATLAS project engages experts from the Satellite Applications Catapult, Ordnance Survey, TRL, Sony Europe, Gobotix, OxTS and Digital Greenwich to examine the architecture, components and performance required to deliver autonomy. The project has also analysed and considered navigation performance in several scenarios; the Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication requirements e.g. to deliver commercial AVs mapping and other services; and how data can be gathered and used in e.g. urban planning to support autonomous systems.
This workshop will provide an opportunity for the project partners to disseminate the outcomes to stakeholders. There will also be the opportunity to engage with other delegates and discuss potential future prospects.
The day will begin with a series of talks on the project purpose and findings. This will be followed by an open opportunity for delegates to pitch ideas and give feedback based on the findings of the project. A roundtable style discussion in the afternoon will aim to spark new ideas for future developments around the theme of intelligent mobility. The format of these discussions will be flexible depending on the delegates in attendance.
If you would like to pitch an idea within the topic of the project, please indicate this on your registration form. There will also be an opportunity to sign up to give feedback, ideas, or recommendations during lunch on the day.
Please register your attendance below. Please note that this is an invite only event. If you would like to suggest a colleague to be invited, please contacts us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
