Evaluation & Impact Officer


We have an amazing 6 month, fixed term, contract opportunity for a driven individual who has an interest in demonstrating our success in helping UK business innovate and grow. Having been established by Innovate UK to drive economic growth in the UK, using satellite applications, we are on the lookout for someone who is organised, analytical and creative.  You will be working with project teams to ensure the various pathways to impact (UK jobs and revenue and wider societal impact) are understood and clearly communicated. Your role will involve monitoring progress towards achieving our impact.

What to expect?

Reporting to the Head of Evaluation and Impact, you will be part of the team that demonstrates the economic and societal benefits that derive from the Satellite Applications Catapult’s investments.  You will play a key role in the supporting and monitoring of our collaborative projects, of researchers and businesses working together, and will be working as part of the wider project delivery team. More broadly, this is a diverse role supporting the Evaluation and Impact team in implementing robust systems for the collection of impact information across the Catapult. You will have a keen interest in gathering and presenting information, evidencing the success and impact achieved from our work with businesses in the space sector and beyond.

What you need

  • You will assist the Evaluation and Impact team in setting up monitoring and evaluation frameworks to capture the economic and social impact from the Catapult’s key investments
  • You must enjoy researching facts and information and more specifically, you will be able to analyse data
  • You will co-ordinate information gathering for either corporate or project-level data
  • As creative thinker, you will have the ability to present data in an accessible and engaging way to a wide audience
  • You will be able to work with colleagues from across the Catapult supporting implementation of data collection and monitoring systems
  • You must enjoy working in a collaborative environment, taking initiative and responsibility for your work

Quick facts

This is a Fixed Term Employment role directly with Satellite Applications Catapult. We are based in Harwell with great public transport connections from all of Oxfordshire as well as London. We offer competitive salaries, 28 days of annual leave (pro-rata) plus all statutory bank holidays that fall within your tenure. Our pension scheme is competitive with a maximum of 10% contribution from us if you put in 5% and to top it all off, we have a private medical insurance as a benefit in kind.
