The Sentinel Data Access Service (SEDAS) was created and funded by the Satellite Applications Catapult and UK Space Agency to help organisations make use of the vast quantities of satellite data becoming available from public and private satellite operators.
SEDAS provides an online data hub offering open access to Earth observation (EO) data from the Copernicus Sentinel 1 and 2 satellites, along with additional datasets from other EO satellites, such as NovaSAR (coming soon).
SEDAS provides immediate access to a live feed of Sentinel data on our Climate, Environmental and Monitoring from Space (CEMS) service. CEMS also hosts a complete metadata set, allowing users to search and access the long-term archive and process the data in a single system, without needing to download any data. The live datasets and older data are accessible directly via an API. Access to further datasets will be provided over time.
Through its web-based interface, experts and non-experts can discover, analyse and download EO data, access related news and educational content, and participate in discussion forums. SEDAS was designed to:
An API is available for all registered users of the SEDAS portal.
