IOD-5 TARS

IOD-5 TARS

In collaboration with Kepler Communications

IOD-5 TARS is currently in progress so keep an eye out for updates on the status of the mission and build.

This mission is in collaboration with Kepler Communications, who are using UK suppliers for this new high-capacity satellite which will be the final prototype prior to the roll out of their GEN1 constellation for wide-area Internet of Things (IoT) services.

In the build process

Kepler are currently developing their payload technology in preparation to ship to Clyde Space for the build and integration. The software development has also begun and will run in parallel with the rest of the hardware build.

The mission follows on from the successful launches of their first two demonstrators, KIPP and CASE.

Dr Chris Brunskill is an electronics engineer specialising in small satellite systems and mission design. He obtained a Masters of Engineering degree in electronics and satellite engineering from the University of Surrey and a PhD in space robotics from the Surrey Space Centre. His work focuses on the development of new satellite applications that utilise small satellite platforms for demonstration of novel technologies and new mission concepts. Chris is passionate about open, innovative technology development in the space sector.
