Satellite designers, manufacturers and suppliers across the UK are facing an increasingly challenging and competitive market. Products need to be smart, lightweight, affordable and robust enough to withstand launch and the extreme temperature changes between Earth and orbit. Simulation and digital design tools can help to meet these challenges while enabling engineers to take full advantage of new material and manufacturing technologies.

We’re supporting Altair with a workshop which will feature a mix of practical insights from some of Europe’s leading satellite designers, along with simulation best practices and demonstrations from Altair’s own industry specialists. Attendees will witness first-hand examples of how the latest digital design technologies are enabling our speakers to significantly reduce development time while injecting innovation into their products.

The workshop is open to all members of the UK satellite and space design community and will cover:

  • Methodologies to design weight out of products for reduced launch cost
  • Processes to produce more robust products with extended operating lives
  • Practical use of multi-physics simulation strategies such as electromagnetic, thermal & fluid flow
  • Examples of the use of additive manufacturing methods for material-efficient components
    And more

Who should attend:

This workshop is of interest to engineers, analysts and managers involved in the design, research and development of satellites and satellite launch systems in the UK.

Why you should attend:

  • See the latest design and simulation strategies being used by your peers
  • Learn practical examples that can be brought back to your workplace
  • Network with other members of the UK satellite and spacecraft design community
