Catapult Updates

  1. ITS Glasgow – Our satellite communications team have spent the week commencing 6th June at the ITS European Congress in Bordeaux demonstrating satellite capabilities for seamless connectivity. They have been demonstrating communications with emergency service vehicles, and will be providing an update on the event at the next Satuccino!
  2. IPSP Australia Project – We had an update on this closing project including outcomes and future plans for the work being done in Australia.
  3. Competitions and STARHub – Kirsten provided an updated on the competitions currently running. Find out more about these competitions here,  and find out more about STARHub here.

Events/Courses/Other Initiatives

  1. UK Space Agency – Announced new IPP funding, and invited everyone to attend IPP Call 1 launch workshop on Tuesday 28 June. Register to attend this workshop here.
  2. South Coast Centre of Excellence in Satellite Application – Grant introduced the Centre and gave an overview of their areas of focus. If you would like to see more please visit their website.
  3. Institute for Environmental Analytics – Climate Data from Space free workshop on July 5. Click here for more details.
  4. National Physical Laboratory – the UK’s National Measurement Institute is a world-leading centre of excellence in developing and applying the most accurate measurement standards, science and technology available. NPL collaborates with industry and academia to deliver measurement solutions in a wide range of areas; from space propulsion and transportation thought to antennas and propagation, Earth observation, data QA&QC, advanced materials, radiation and modelling uncertainties in Space systems.
  5. ESA – Announcing new ITT funding calls. See here for more information. Europe’s SpaceDataHighway relays first Sentinel-1 images via laser.
