Thank you to everyone who attended the Satuccino on Wednesday 4 October. See below for the updates.
Healthy New Towns (HNTs) are demonstrator sites NHS England has selected to work with from March 2016, to “rethink how health and care services can be delivered”. In the HNT feasibility study, Satellite Applications Catapult brought together public and private sector stakeholders to pilot digital therapeutics for obesity and diabetes, incorporating satellite enabled technologies to underpin wellbeing and better health management.
We looked at a range of interventions that will help the towns to move to self-management and wellbeing. Our studies looked into a list of factor and the initial studies on the potential solutions, supported by satellite technologies where appropriate: addressing environmental (green spaces and leisure facilities), personal (promotion of healthy eating and mitigation of health risks arising from exposure to high level ambient air pollution) and social (connecting groups within the community, incorporating a healthy lifestyle in the school curriculum) factors.
2. IOD-5 – Chris Brunskill, Head of Domain: Small Satellites and Future Constellations
