University College London’s Centre for Systems Engineering is running a short course for those interested in the space sector. The course highlights the value of space satellite systems and the services that they enable and the aspects that must be considered in their creation. The course demonstrates the importance of these systems that underpin many commercial and social activities, for example providing communications, navigation, weather forecasting, disaster mitigation and understanding of climate change.
The global economic value of the space sector is forecast to grow to £400bn by 2030 and is a key growth target in many countries, employing tens of thousands of highly skilled workers.
Satellite Applications Catapult and Astrium, two major space sector organisations, will deliver sessions within the course. For more information about the course, please visit the UCL website.
