The Satellite Applications Catapult is delighted to be a gold sponsor of the 2013 UK Space Conference, from 15-17 July.
The event will provide an opportunity for the space community to come together and share ideas, highlight innovation and promote discussion.
Amongst the keynote speakers at the conference will be The Rt Hon David Willetts MP, Minister of State for Universities and Science; President of UKspace, Andy Green; ESA Director General, Jean-Jacques Dordain; and Chief Executive of the UK Space Agency, Dr David Parker.
The Satellite Applications Catapult is one of a network of seven UK technology and innovation centres which aim to drive economic growth through commercialisation of research. Our vision is to support UK industry through the acceleration of the growth of satellite applications and to contribute to capturing of a 10% share of the £400bn global space market predicted by 2030.
At this year’s UK Space Conference, we will be playing an active role as a sponsor, exhibitor (stand D40) and speaker, with several members of the Catapult’s senior management team contributing to the programme.
Tuesday 16 July

- 10.30am: Chairman, Tim Sherwood, will be discussing ‘Growth – Rising to the Challenge’
- 10.30am: Head of Innovation, Dr Sam Adlen, will be contributing to the session on ‘Successful Science & its Impact’.

Innovation Soapbox – Tuesday 16 July – 9-11am
The Catapult is sponsoring a two-hour Innovation Soapbox designed to showcase a wide range of innovations. Presenters will have a maximum of five minutes each to draw attention to key space-related topics that don’t fit naturally into one of the other themed sessions. The Catapult will be awarding an iPad to the winning presentation, which will be presented at the awards dinner on Tuesday night. (Twitter hashtag: #innovationsoapbox)
