Global agri-businesses, venture capital investors and technology start-ups from around the world come together each year to uncover the most exciting innovations in agricultural technology – and to forge the right partnerships to take those solutions to market. Attracting delegations from the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, this is a summit where connections are made: accelerating the transition of technology from the lab to the field.
Agri-tech is an important area for Catapult. We are developing an agriculture programme called Food Supply, where we are working with stakeholders from across the food supply chain to maximise the potential growth for satellite applications in this area. We are particularly focused on the exploitation of Copernicus’ Sentinel data; e.g. the use of the Sentinel 1 C-band instrument for monitoring vegetation phenology, in order to advocate its adoption by agri- service providers.
The Catapult will be attending this event to promote the use of satellite technology in the field of agri-tech and to promote links between satellite and agri-tech industries.
