On June 28th 2016, the UK Space Agency (UKSA) announced the opening of their International Partnerships Programme at an industry briefing. Full details can be found at:
Part of this programme includes the tactical calls for four projects to be delivered in Malaysia. During the industry briefing, Ahmad Rifad A. Rashid, Head of Creative Industry Relations and Corporate Affairs for the National Defence University of Malaysia, addressed the background to these projects and explained the problems that need to be solved. He stated that, their preferred approach is for a single organisation to pull together and manage a consortium to deliver all four projects as an integrated programme of activities.
The Satellite Applications Catapult is stepping up to this challenge and submitting a proposal for the complete programme of works. The Catapult is inviting companies to submit an expression of interest for roles in the following projects:
SMEs are strongly encouraged to participate and preference shall be given to organisations with a track record for delivering similar services in Malaysia or similar tropical environments.
All participants in the call will be expected to comply with the criteria published by UKSA relating to their IPP call, ODA requirements and State Aid compliance.
The Catapult shall act as the Programme Manager and technical authority for the programme accepting overall responsibility for both the proposal and, if successful, the programme delivery.
