Working hours: 37.5h a week

Contract: Permanent, 3 month probation and 1 month notice

Holiday: 28 days per annum, plus statutory holidays

The Role

The Catapult’s Business Innovation and Support team has been successful in developing and delivering a portfolio of services and support mechanisms to early stage and growing space businesses. We are looking for the right candidate to strengthen our team to better support businesses and help us implement and maintain mechanisms to capture our engagements.

The jobholder will reinforce the strong support ethos of the organisation, actively pursuing a first class performance and service culture that is aligned both to the needs of the market, and the drive of the catapult to support innovation and promote business creativity.

Main Responsibilities and Activities

  • Assist with the provision of first line support to businesses that engage with the Catapult
  • Help identify and service the requirements of space businesses
  • Work with wider Business Innovation and Support Team to help provide Catapult services and monitor the effectiveness through feedback
  • Provide support with account management system and help manage communication between departments internally and with external partners
  • Produce reports (weekly, monthly and quarterly) and review business engagement activities to help meet KPI targets
  • Orchestrate access to Catapult programmes, facilities and technical services, necessary to support development activities
  • Utilise existing mechanisms for sign-posting of external service provision that supports business growth
  • Host and coordinate Catapult Coffee morning and arrange speakers
  • Provide assistance with the delivery of other business support events (including Satuccino), working with SME & Finance Network Manager and events team as required.
  • Produce case studies
  • Manage companies’ workplan process.

The performance metrics for this organisation will be associated with the development and operation of effective support mechanisms for businesses that engage with the Catapult for the development, deployment and operation of Satellite Applications.

Any other duties dependent on the needs of the business which may occasionally require the attendance of events off site.

Other useful but not essential skills:

  • Experience in working with start-up businesses, knowledge of investor readiness and business plans
  • Knowledge of space sector
