Geographic Information System Specialist

Location: Harwell, Oxfordshire

Responsible to: Head of Geospatial Solutions

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Permanent, 3 month probation and 1 month notice

Holiday: 28 days per annum, plus statutory holidays

The Role

This is a role where you will be collaborating with team mates from across the Catapult, sharing ideas and thinking outside the box – taking a pioneering and innovative approach to Geospatial analysis.

About You

You will be confident in your technical and computing abilities to pro-activity lead your work and work with a level of autonomy to create, shape and deliver cutting-edge development projects and services, with professionalism but also having fun and enjoying your role.
Desired experience

  • ESRI ArcGIS Desktop/Pro
  • QGIS
  • FME Desktop / Server
  • Spatial Database experience PostGres/PostGIS
  • Geoserver
  • Erdas Image
  • Programming Languages: Python / JavaScript
  • WebGIS Libraries such as: Leaflet/OpenLayers
  • Online Services such as: MapBox/GoogleEarthEngine/GoogleMapsAPI
