HR Administrator Internship

Location: Harwell, Oxfordshire

Responsible to: HR Officer

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract: 1 year fixed term contract

Holiday: 28 days per annum, plus statutory holidays.

The Role

You will be responsible for administrative tasks covering all aspects of the employee life-cycle. This includes:


  • Acknowledging job applications and recording on vacancy tracker
  • Sending rejection/feedback emails to applicants
  • Liaising with applicants to book in interviews
  • Booking meeting rooms
  • Processing and logging new starter documentation, ensuring all documentation is received in a timely manner and each employee is fully compliant
  • Scheduling induction days, HR review and probationary reviews
  • Site pass management – ensuring all new starters receive a CRB check and liaising with the site pass office to get a pass organised as well as dealing with renewals

Learning and Development

  • Ensuring training log is up to date
  • Issuing further development agreements and ensuring signed copies are received back before employee attendance on the course
  • Providing employees with feedback form to complete following training course

General HR

  • Keeping policy logs up to date
  • Raising PO’s for department costs
  • Filing

About You

Required Skills and Experience

  • Evidence of Business/HR related studies (either A-Level or Degree)
  • A passion for people, and an interest in entering a career in HR
  • Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage your workload effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • MS skills, especially Outlook and Excel

Desired experience

  • Some administration experience would be beneficial, but not essential
  • An innovative approach to work, with the ability to make suggestions for improvement with regards to policies and procedures
