Marketing Assistant – Maternity Cover

Location: Harwell, Oxfordshire

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract: 10 month contract, and 1 month notice 

Holiday: 28 days per annum, plus statutory holidays, pro rata.

The Role

We are looking for a marketing enthusiast who would like to work in a dynamic, innovative and vibrant environment. This is a very varied role and an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to start a career in marketing. You will need to have good organisational and communication skills, happy to muck in and work as part of a busy team, with your main focus on marketing event support and market research.

This role will provide assistance to the Marketing Events Manager, helping to organise and support workshops, events, exhibitions, VIP visits and customer engagement activities. You will also support the Business Development team to research market sector information and relevant events, as well as general admin duties.

About You

  • Working with the Marketing Events Manager, you will help deliver all Catapult external and internal events. This will include helping to set up registration pages, administering delegate lists, collating and distributing relevant information, printing badges, etc.
  • Working with our CRM system, you will be responsible for inputting delegate data and pulling customer information when required.
  • Working with the business development team, you will be requested to research data/fact find and identify market sector events using online resources.
  • As part of your research and online activities, from time to time you will be requested to translate research information into easily digestible facts and content.
  • This is a small busy team responsible for all aspects internal and external communications, therefore from time to time you will be required to, or have the opportunity to get involved in other areas of the marketing mix, including online and social media, internal communications, press promotions and general marketing activities.

Desired experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to speak fluent Spanish due to our growing activities in South America.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work towards and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional motivational skills, ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as team cooperation will be a key requirement for this role.
  • Competent copywriting skills.
  • Possess a reasonable technical understanding and ability to understand and communicate the Catapult’s activities and capabilities.
  • Ability to react fast to requests for information and work in a high paced, high pressure environment.
  • Strong attention to details, especially in the area of written words.
  • Ability to understand client/customer´s needs and deal with accordingly.
  • Ability to work and cooperate with all levels of staff, from CEO through to Office Junior.
