Marketing Manager

Location: Harwell, Oxfordshire

Responsible to: Head of Marketing

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (potential for flexible working with up to 2 working days from home)

Contract: Permanent, 3 month probation and 1 month notice

Holiday: 28 days per annum, plus statutory holidays.

The Role

This role plays an intrinsic role in the Satellite Applications Catapult’s marketing and communications team. You must be a good general all-rounder with at least five years’ marketing experience. This role incorporates the development and execution of strategic marketing activities that meet the organisation’s objectives. You will manage, plan, direct, coordinate and execute a series of marketing activities. These include project management, market research, event and workshops, written communications, and client and supplier relationships.

Main Responsibilities and Activities

  • Develop, plan, project manage and execute a series of marketing activities and campaigns at any one time.
  • Play a pivotal role in the coordination of campaign activities between departments.
  • Provide general market intelligence gathering to support our programmes’ activities.
  • Set, communicate and maintain timelines and priorities on specific projects.
  • Manage operational and administrative functions to ensure specific projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop, plan and deliver events to support our programme activities in conjunction with the Catapult’s external engagement strategy.
  • Travel to events – in the UK and internationally – and, where necessary, carry out inspections prior to events.
  • For events, provide day-to-day coordination and liaison between venues, clients, speakers, invited staff, suppliers and any other event associated contacts, as well as maintaining and reporting the status of all events which fall under their remit.
  • Ensure the Catapult brand is represented to its maximum benefit.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.

  • Possesses reasonable technical understanding and ability to understand and communicate the Catapult’s activities and capabilities
  • Good people management and supervisory skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions fast and work in a high-paced, high pressure environment.
