Resource Manager

Location: Harwell, Oxfordshire

Responsible to: Head of Project Delivery

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Permanent, 3 month probation and 1 month notice

Holiday: 28 days per annum, plus statutory holidays.

The Role

The successful individual will work for the Head of Project Delivery and be a part of the project delivery team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Resourcing of Catapult staff and contractors to work on projects
  • Working closely with Project, Bid Managers, HR and the wider Catapult to ensure resourcing needs are forecasted and resourcing levels are managed for the delivery teams
  • Assist project managers to ensure resources are available and the impact of project changes are understood
  • Modelling future demand and ensuring future opportunities are captured in the project pipeline
  • Working with Domain managers and HR to identify skill needs and recruitment or contracting requirements
  • Develop and maintain the Catapult skills matrix in conjunction with HR
  • Communication of resourcing plans, forecasts, utilisation and availability
  • Review of bids for resourcing needs

About You

Required Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable and significant resource management experience
  • Comfortable and confident working with different stakeholders to find solutions to resourcing issues
  • Organised with an attention to detail
  • Friendly, calm and positive outlook
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Project (or equivalent)
  • Numerate
  • Enjoy solving problems and developing solutions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to relocate or commute to Harwell

Desired experience

  • Planview experience desirable but not required. Training can be provided
  • Experience of working within a project environment with exposure to IT/system/software development projects an advantage
