Business Development Analyst (Ref 16/06)

Stevenson Astrosat is a rapidly growing multi-award winning space technologies and services company specialising in earth observation, satellite communications and hardware development. Our focus on commercial space services has allowed us to rapidly grow our team of in-house specialists who are constantly working on multiple end-user driven projects for a mixture of governmental and private sector clients.

The successful candidate will be a part of our business development team, doing market research and collating business intelligence to discover which new products would be most successful in the current market.

You will gather data and information on trends to understand our industry’s challenges and to identify new sales opportunities for our company. You will also support the writing of various bids and proposals for commercial contracts and grants.

Ideally, you will also support Astrosat by developing the brand and researching marketing opportunities.

We are looking for someone with a quick brain, strong quantitative analytical skills and the ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels of the business.

Student Specification:

This internship is targeted at students from a business, operations, accounting, analytics, finance or marketing background. You will also need to have a strong interest in the space industry. You also must be eligible to work in the UK.

Minimum requirements:

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have excellent analytical and research skills.
  • Must have superior written and verbal communication skills as well as good presentation skills.
  • Must have good organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Must have excellent computer and technical skills and knowledge of report writing software.
  • Must have good problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Must have good negotiation and persuasion skills.

Preferred additional requirements:

  • Experience in sales and marketing.
  • Have experience in writing bids or proposals.

The Nitty Gritty: 8-week fixed term contract to be agreed with successful candidate but nominally to start 29 June 2016. (Induction Day will be at Harwell on 27 June.) £1,250 pcm.
