Company: Bird.i Ltd
Location: Satellite Applications Catapult, Harwell
Bird.i is a Big Data Analytics start-up exploiting satellite, airborne and UAV imagery. We have the objective to create the market place for observation imagery, serving any type of businesses and individuals. Our ambition is to bring observation imagery to the reach of the mass market via an API to be consumed in mobile and web applications.
The Satellite Applications Catapult is an independent innovation and technology company, created to foster growth across the economy through the exploitation of space. We help organisations make use of and benefit from satellite technologies, and bring together multi-disciplinary teams to generate ideas and solutions in an open innovation environment.
The objectives of this project is to develop a web/mobile application that will consume observation imagery from our API. The purpose and scope of the application will be defined at the beginning of the project with our design thinker according to the latest finding from user focus groups and our Business to Consumer strategy. The application will be offering an elegant and user friendly way to visualise observation imagery, not exclusively through Geographic Information System. It is important that we can do some analytics on the usage of the imagery to refine the data offered by our API.
