SPINtern Information

Congratulations on securing your internship! Below we’ve included some useful information you may need throughout your placement. Please read through it all, and let us know if you have any questions.

Induction Day

The SPIN Induction Day is a great way to meet other interns and organisations in the space industry. All interns and host organisations are required to attend, and you will be given an insight into the vast range of opportunities of career paths available in the space industry.

Date: Monday 18 June

Venue: Satellite Applications Catapult

If you haven’t already done so, please register here.

Showcase Day

As part of your project, you will need to attend the showcase event to present your experience. This year, the showcase will be held at the UK National Earth Observation Conference 2018. You will get FREE admission to the event and will have the opportunity to meet a whole community of space industry organisations and experts. You’ll give a 2 minute pitch describing your project and what you have gained from your experience, and then network with all interested parties by your poster, created as part of your internship.

In the afternoon, you’ll also be invited to attend a UKSEDS and UKSA Skills and Careers Speed Mentoring Session and Panel.

Date: Friday 7 September

Venue: Birmingham University
