Through their sportswear brand, KYMIRA Sport, the company is bringing its technologies to market and reinvesting revenue in continued R&D. The company’s first commercialisation was their KYnergy® Infrared Technology which harnesses your wasted energy and recycles it back to your muscles, super charging your cells, improving performance and accelerating recovery.

Looking ahead to the future, KYMIRA are constantly refining their KYnergy® Infrared Technology and expanding the range of products that they use it in. Medical, military and defence and even space exploration applications are being trialled.

Beyond this, they’re investing heavily in smart textile technology to create the smart clothing of tomorrow for a cleaner, safer and healthier planet.

Project Description: KYMIRA is offering one SPINtern the opportunity to work with them on an exciting two-part project that includes furthering the use of their current technologies and the development of their cutting-edge R&D in the space industry. The initial focus will be based domestically in the UK, with phase 2 considering wider space agencies and private companies abroad:

  • UK Space Agency
    1. Introduce KYMIRA’s infrared technology to human space flight
    2. Conduct research for smart garment use in space and co-ordinate feedback

Over a period of 8-12 weeks, you will work closely with KYMIRA’s CEO and CTO on the above project. Performance will also be assessed and may result in a formal job offer at the end of the placement.

Start no later than 27 June. (Induction Day will be at Harwell on 26 June.) £1,000 pcm.
