Company: Satellite Applications Catapult
Location: Harwell Oxford, Design Team
The Satellite Applications Catapult is an independent innovation and technology company, created to foster growth across the economy through the exploitation of space. We help organisations make use of and benefit from satellite technologies, and bring together multi-disciplinary teams to generate ideas and solutions in an open innovation environment.
Based in Harwell, near Didcot, the Catapult was established in May 2013 by Innovate UK as one of a network of centres to accelerate the take-up of emerging technologies and drive economic growth. We are a not-for-profit research organisation which is registered as a private company limited by guarantee and controlled by its Board.
Background on Project:
Space can be hard to explain to people. Many of the concepts and technologies we talk about, and even space itself, can be pretty abstract and tricky to communicate. This is where graphic designers at the Satellite Applications Catapult play such a key role, making the invisible visible and the confusing understandable.
We’d like to apply your graphic design skills to a broad range of communication projects. These would encompass explaining what the Satellite Applications Catapult does, to outlining how satellites talk to each other, how a new business model adds value or even the packaging for a new tiny satellite. Media will range across physical and digital – we want you to be free to be creative in your responses – surprise us!
You must be eligible to work in the UK.
Preferred additional requirements:
You are a student from a Graphic Design, Information Experience Design, Communication Design or similar courses, with some great visuals on your portfolio.
