Space Technology Scotland Meetup: Edinburgh City Deal & its impact on the Space Sector

Date: 12 February 2019
Time: 6pm – 8pm
Venue: Bayes Centre,
Working with the University of Edinburgh, Space Technology Scotland have organised an event to highlight the new city deal and its proposed future impact on the space sector. The new city deal is a joint UK/Scottish Government £600 million investment to unlock economic growth and boost jobs across the region. Specifically of interest, this deal will see the creation of five new innovation hubs, including in robotics and space technologies –
Talks at this event will include:
• An introduction from the Bayes Centre
• A showcase from the University of Edinburgh’s coordinator for implementing the city deal for space. Attendees are invited to ask questions and to give input into the process
• An opportunity to meet representatives from Converge Challenge start-up competition
• Also, an opportunity to meet academics as well as PhD and MSc students
We are also hoping to have delegations from Napier University and other institutions to give this event a wide breadth for potential discussion and networking.
The speaker sessions will be followed by time to chat and mingle with the other members over some refreshments.
As with all their events, if you are feeling brave there are a few open mic slots available to give a quick 60 second introduction about yourself, your work, any challenges you are facing or a pitch about your business.
