The Satellite Applications Catapult is in a unique position ranging across different markets looking at ways how to bring satellite technology to every-day life. We are at the forefront of innovation and as our new Senior Earth Observation Specialist you will be a key member of the Geospatial Intelligence team furthering the exploitation of data from remote sensing satellites. The role involves close engagement in cutting-edge development projects and activities at the forefront of satellite technologies. This can be anything from scientific research through to commercial productisation, from collaborative development to thematic workshop organisation. Whilst this is not a hands-on technical role, your technical expertise will be key to your success and it is paramount you have strong background in a similar EO role.

Is this for you? Yes, if you have a strong academic background with excellent knowledge of remote sensing or you are a remote sensing technical expert looking at your next step. You most definitely have strong passion for the industry, thrive to grow and develop and have the ability to motivate teams and deliver complex technical results to large consortium projects. Whilst a MSc is not a must, BSc in a relevant field alongside with strong industrial experience is. You will also be familiar with the strategy around programmes with Innovate UK and/or ESA. Importantly, you feel at home in R&D environment and have direct experience with proposal development and working in partnership/consortia settings.

This is a permanent role directly with Satellite Applications Catapult. We are based in Harwell with great public transport connections from all of Oxfordshire as well as London.
