The Intelligent Transport Cluster and the South Coast Centre of Excellence for Satellite Applications at the University of Portsmouth are hosting a virtual event entitled “The Future of Mobility” on Wednesday 30th September 2020, 10.00am – 12.00pm.
This interactive event will invite regional stakeholders and academic researchers in the field of mobility and intelligent transport to come together to discuss the future of mobility in a post lockdown world. We will consider and discuss the impacts of lockdown on travel behaviour, how transport may be used in the future and also help to identify opportunities for more sustainable options as the new normal takes hold.
Pertinent questions such as:
Is there a growing proportion of people maintaining work from home?
What is the future for city centres and car parks?
Will people avoid public transport in fear of Covid-19?
Will medical advice conflict with promoting public transport for sustainability?
What other sustainable travel options could be explored?
We want to explore the social, environmental and economic impacts of the lockdown and the predicted future of mobility in light of the pandemic exposure.
Please submit any questions before the event to sccoe@port.ac.uk using FutureMobility in the email header.
