Health and Wellbeing – Challenges, Opportunities and Future Focus

Date: 15 May 2017

Time: 11.00am – 3:00pm

Venue: The Sandpit, AIR Building, Falmouth University, Penryn Campus, Cornwall TR10 9FE

Health, wellbeing and care are at a crossroads. Demographic changes, financial constraints and a historical health and social care contract with the population is placing unprecedented and unsustainable pressures on our health and social care system. We want and need to respond to these challenges in a radical way – utilising and capitalising on leading edge technology, research, innovation, working with entrepreneurs who see things differently.

Creating the right ecosystem to help and encourage entrepreneurs, SME’s, start-up businesses, academia, and the public sector is crucial. We will explore the capabilities offered by satellite technology including secure communication, connectivity, big data, remote sensing and monitoring. We will be sharing opportunities that the Satellite Applications Catapult offers, stimulating innovation, solution focused thinking and dynamic action to help to meet the challenges we face.
