Satellite Communications – Piero Lion

Dr Piero Francesco Lion Stoppato is a well-rounded executive and management consultant with international experience of space science and commercial programmes. He advises executives in established and start-up companies in the field of wireless communications operators.

Piero has significant experience in satellite projects due diligence, vendors/partners selection and in procurement negotiations of turnkey systems. He has direct experience of some of the largest global satcom transactions involving satellite advising financial institutions and communicating complex concepts effectively to investors and advisors (legal, financial and insurance). He has a strong technical and scientific background, alongside proven experience in business development, product development and planning.

Piero is a recognised expert with a proven track record in strategy, market analysis, marketing, financial analysis, project management and operations. He is an entrepreneurial, cross-cultural and critical thinking executive with more than 25 years of international experience. Piero has been on the board of two successful space startups, as well as supporting European SMEs through the EC technical expert programme.
