Strategic Missions Manager

 

We have an amazing opportunity for a Strategic Missions Manager, for someone within an engineering or technical role looking for continued development of strategic and leaderships skills and responsibilities.

As part of the Access to Space team at the Satellite Applications Catapult, you would work with teams responsible for creating new commercial space opportunities, delivered through close engagement with the upstream space sector community, including spacecraft manufacturers, ground segment operators (ground stations and mission operations) and launch service providers. Our aim is to support new and existing business in creating commercial satellite applications services through delivery of new missions. We need you to work with new and existing businesses to explore the use of state of the art technologies and business models, driven by new market opportunities that present a critical strategic opportunity for the UK economy.

As our new Strategic Missions Manager, you will bring your technical expertise together with real-life experience to make compelling cases for novel, commercially responsive missions. As a self-motivated and driven leader, you will be able to communicate to all levels of staff from technical and non-technical backgrounds. You will inspire teams and stakeholders across industries and offer your technical support for mission analysis and design from systems perspective, concept analysis, technology capability review and contributing to feasibility studies as necessary. You will thrive in an agile, fast moving and collaborative working environment.

Is this right for you? If you have a strong technical background in either engineering or similar domain, have worked in a technical capacity in a business environment within the space sector and have demonstrable project management skills, scoping analysis as well as business and technical case development experience, you will be perfect for us!

This is a permanent role directly with Satellite Applications Catapult. We are based in Harwell with great public transport connections from all of Oxfordshire as well as London.
