The Satellite Applications Catapult is taking part in this year’s Farnborough International Airshow in the UK Space Zone, Hall 3, from 11-15 July. Alongside other UK and European space industry organisations, the Catapult will demonstrate the pioneering technologies and capabilities the UK is contributing to this growing global sector.
On Thursday 14 July, we are organising two UAV-themed sessions focused on addressing technical and application aspects centred around the enabling of Beyond visual Line Of Sight (BvLOS) operations within UK airspace.
Stuart Martin, CEO of the Satellite Applications Catapult, said: “The Farnborough Airshow is the highest profile event in the UK aerospace and defence industry calendar, with the Space sector becoming increasingly important to the show. Looking at the UAV market, this year’s show is a great opportunity to bring together key industry players to consider how the space sector can help address some of the critical challenges of this burgeoning sector, to unlock its full economic potential.”
The two sessions, which will last approximately 45 minutes including Q&A, will take place in Space Zone auditorium, located in Hall 3, and focuses on:
- Realising the Commercial Opportunities for BvLOS Drones (10:30-11:15)
- BvLOS UAV operations – An application perspective (11:30-12:15)
Alongside the Catapult, the workshops will feature presentations from the Department for Transport, NATS, Archangel AeroSpace, Roke Manor and Inmarsat. If you are interested in joining one of these sessions please come along 5-minutes before the scheduled time, there is no need to book.
