Join us to learn more about, and identify, opportunities for space-enabled innovation, collaboration, and commercial activities for UK organisations within the Indian Agricultural sector.
Funded by Innovate UK / part of UK Research and Innovation, the Satellite Applications Catapult, supported by the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and the Agri-EPI Centre, has been working with Indian Stakeholders to capture opportunities for UK businesses to develop collaborations in India to address challenges related to:
Connectivity
Includes the focus areas of:
▪ Enabling connectivity of actuator and sensor devices in agriculture, for example in monitoring crops and animals, pests and diseases, water usage, soil health, etc.
▪ Enabling sustainable and profitable supply chains through systems, robotics, and sensors from food production through to post harvest and logistics (assurance, predicting harvest, environmental monitoring in haulage and storage, cold storage and storage, etc.).
Environmental Sustainability and Climate Resilience
Includes the focus areas of:
• Water Scarcity and Climate Resilience: Earth observation, weather monitoring, machine learning and artificial intelligence to allow for identification, prediction and monitoring of environmental factors that affect farming processes and crop production.
• Disease Management (Pests): Range of sensors and IoT technologies collecting data about crop damage from pests and disease and using weather data used to predict potential threats. Includes animal disease occurrence using weather data used to predict potential spread.
• Systems and supply chain focus on reducing Green House Gas emissions and improving soil health using Earth Observation and sensors combined with analytics to monitor at scale.
This event, which forms part of the Satellite Applications Catapult’s Pipeline Stimulation Programme, has been designed to showcase these opportunities to UK organisations.

This event will explore the challenges within the Indian Agricultural sector by developing opportunities across borders that deliver innovations to identified supply chain challenges. It will showcase capability from the UK Catapults and Agri-Tech ecosystem, give insight into the current use of, adoption of, and challenges to new technologies, and provide opportunities for greater collaboration between the UK and India.

About the Pipeline Stimulation Programme
The Satellite Applications Catapult’s Pipeline Stimulation Programme (PSP) is a series of international activities designed to identify UK satellite applications opportunities for innovation and future impactful collaborations globally. These activities encompass discovery exercises to identify collaborative activities and research programmes that could be created through joint UK collaborations to deliver substantial opportunities for organisations internationally. The Catapult has carried out previous similar activities around the world which have been successful in creating dialogues that can lead to partnerships and subsequent commercial and research activity including the UK-Australia Space Bridge.
The aims of the PSP are to enable:
• Identification of areas of opportunity for UK engagement
• Awareness of areas of complementarity for positive interactions and engagement for strategy development
• Enhanced visibility of stakeholders and states in-country
• Visibility of key supply chain / sector needs
• Identification of existing market and applications
