The European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) is a distinguished name travels far and wide. To win a ESNC competition was high on our agenda, the prize was obviously considerable but it was the ESNC brand which was of most interest.

Skignz entered the prestigious ESNC UK Challenge. With some fantastic previous winners we knew we had to think outside the box and create something relevant, innovative & versatile.

We decided to create a skignz “Smart City”

Definition of a “Smart City” = A smart city is an urban area that uses different types of electronic data collection sensors to supply information which is used to manage assets and resources efficiently. A smart city may therefore be more prepared to respond to challenges than one with a simple “transactional” relationship with its citizens.Using AR to help engage, inspire, & interact with visitors, tourists & the general population.

Create a SMART environment that is useful, engaging, fun, & informative.

Some of the examples we used in our Pitch were:

  • Find your hotel.
  • Navigate your way around a sporting / temp event.
  • Transport needs (bus stops, tube stations).
  • Disaster planning.
  • Tourist Tool.

Skignz presented to an elite panel consisting of the finest from ESNC’s Partners. The pitch lasted 15 mins and involved a power-point presentation, which explained and demonstrated the idea, and visualising the possibilities that skignz can deliver. The feedback was great and the questions we received were inquisitive and on point.

We are extremely honoured and happy to be named as a finalist, we will aim to use the publicity and brand of ESNC to establish ourselves in the Smart City Industry.
