Space Technology Innovation Masterclasses: User Centred Design
Is this for me?
Have you spotted a problem that you think space technology could solve? Are you early on in your development and looking for ways to give your service that competitive edge? Are you looking for ways to get useful information out of your potential customers?
This session
This masterclass has been designed to help you move from a general understanding of a problem to a set of validated user requirements that can be used to design a service that is useful, usable, and much more likely to stick in the market.
At the Satellite Applications Catapult, we employ a User Centred Design (UCD) approach to space enabled service development, putting the user at the heart of product, technology, or service design in order to de-risk its development. It’s a process that will make sure that you build the right thing and build the thing right; and we want to share it with you.
In this interactive online class aimed at UK businesses, members of the UCD Team from the Satellite Applications Catapult will show you how to capture the critical information that will help you create a value proposition with competitive edge.
The class will combine presentations on User Centred Design approaches with practical activities that your organisation can use to develop their understanding of their users, their users’ requirements and how to incorporate these into the service or product development cycle.
Why are we doing it?
Our mission is to grow the space sector, and that means growing new space businesses. To this end, and in partnership with the UK Space Agency, the Satellite Applications Catapult is excited to be launching a series of Space Innovation Masterclasses, where sector experts will share tools and techniques for designing with space technology and support you to explore these using your own services as examples.
Keep an eye out for our other classes in the series, focusing on understanding your place in the in-orbit economy supply chain, finding the right Earth Observation Data for your service, and leveraging connectivity to ensure your data service can be delivered to anywhere!
