Our Agri Strategy is committed to the creation and development of truly sustainable global Agri-food supply chains empowered by satellite enabled solutions.
With a focus on global sustainable supply chains and high value production, our vision is to unlock industry led commercialisation of satellite enabled products and services through exploiting the Catapult's non-competitive, neutral trusted status to create strategic partnerships delivering growth and Jobs to UK Business.
Working with supply chain companies and governments to deliver commitments related to deforestation, carbon sequestration and water usage.
Creating business led ecosystems between UK and producer countries to target production and quality challenges.
Developing our Westcott site as a Digital Agri-Test Centre focused on 5G, Robotics, UAVs and satellite technologies.
We link the UK Space and Agricultural Sectors to create impactful projects and export opportunities around the globe linking satellite technologies with agricultural science and policy.
We leverage our unique position and status as a neutral UK government backed entity to deliver leading solutions to global sustainable production challenges.
We ensure ‘fit for purpose’ geospatial and ubiquitous technology solutions developed in the UK are fit for use globally across arable, livestock and horticultural production.
The Agri Living Lab is a proposed network of real-world testing environments that will support organisations to innovate, co-create, demonstrate, and deliver solutions that address global AgriFood needs. With a focus on satellite technologies, the Satellite Applications Catapult and Harper Adams University are working together and have formed the first Agri Living Labs at Westcott and Harper Adams.
Through providing access to real-world testing environments, connectivity, sensor technologies, facilities, and specialists in AgriFood, satellite technologies, engineering, business, and design, the Living Labs will deliver an ecosystem which bring together agri-food stakeholders (the problem owners) and technology providers (problem solvers) to create sector-wide solutions.
