The Satellite Applications Catapult will be playing an active role at this week’s World Congress and Exhibition on Intelligent Transport Systems and Services in Bordeaux.

For the first time ever, the Congress will include a major focus on Space, with this year’s theme being ‘Towards Intelligent Mobility – Better use of Space’, focusing on the importance of using existing transport infrastructure more intelligently.

During the week, the Catapult will be exhibiting (stand D21), contributing to the seminar programme, and showcasing its multi-vehicle Emergency Services demonstrator. The one-hour demonstrations will provide attendees with a rare opportunity to see the demonstrator in action, showing continuity of service for voice, video and data services over satellite and terrestrial communications technologies.

Catapult experts will also be chairing, moderating and presenting at special interest and technical sessions, including Satellite Communications, Seamless Connectivity, Positioning and Broadcast and Infotainment.

Stuart Martin, CEO of the Satellite Applications Catapult, said: “Innovation and Intelligent Transport Systems play a significant role in determining our transport compositions for the future. It’s therefore extremely encouraging that the ITS World Congress has placed a major focus on Space at this year’s event .We look forward to contributing to the programme and raising awareness amongst attendees about the critical role that satellite technology can play in this burgeoning sector.”
