There are significant global drivers attracting commercial interest to the broad field of In-Space Services. These include a
national security need to develop in-space capabilities; a fleet of ageing, high-value satellite assets requiring life extension; suitable technical maturity of robotics and autonomy; and a growth in New Space activities providing the potential demand for In-Space Services.
The UK has a strong position in In-Space Services, three of the five biggest inaugural In-Space Service missions of 2020 Effective Space, Virgin Galactic, and Astroscale, have a base in the UK.
