A focused webinar on how microgravity is moving from early exploration to funded R&D opportunities in biotechnology and drug discovery.
Over the past year, the UK microgravity life sciences community has progressed from identifying use cases to launching collaborative pilot projects. This session will share key insights and outline how to get involved in the next phase of funded activity.
Microgravity is emerging as a powerful research environment for biotechnology, enabling new approaches to tissue models, protein crystallisation, biomaterials and bioprocessing.
Over the past year, the Satellite Applications Catapult and its UK-Beyond Earth Network (UK-BEN) have coordinated the Microgravity Life Sciences Working Group, bringing together industry, academia and space providers to move from exploration to practical, commercially relevant use cases.
This webinar will share what has been learned – and, more importantly, what comes next.
We will introduce a new collaboration with the Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Catalyst (IBIC) to support pilot R&D projects in microgravity, and explain how organisations can participate.
This includes the upcoming North West matchmaking workshop (29 April), where participants will form project teams and pitch for IBIC proof-of-concept funding (typically around £30k).
