Journey to Net Zero
Committing to achieving net-zero by 2030, and training and educating our staff on the impact of good environmental practices in all our work.

Committing to achieving net-zero by 2030, and training and educating our staff on the impact of good environmental practices in all our work.
The Satellite Applications Catapult recognises the importance of the work we do in the fight against climate change and the development of a more sustainable future for our planet. Satellites are uniquely placed to monitor, measure and support decision making on climate impacts, and to help mankind mitigate the effects of human influence on earth.
This year, we are leading a wide range of focused activities to offer complete transparency around our own journey to net zero, from the perspective of our COO. In so doing, we will educate and support the space sector to make the journey themselves, dramatically decreasing the time the sector takes to make the journey. We will also demonstrate our leadership position within the industry to key stakeholders.
As a business, we are also committed to achieving net-zero by 2030, and training and educating our staff on the impact of good environmental practices in all our work.
As part of our Journey to Net Zero, we have some key goals and milestones we expect to hit over the next 12 months:
The Coalition’s mission is to accelerate the transition to a Net Zero through Space Technology. In a global effort to limit warming to 1.5C and safeguard a liveable climate, Governments, institutions and corporations are working together to sharply reduce emissions this decade and achieve a balance of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 at the latest.
This Coalition is calling for organisations across the space value chain and wider space technology ecosystem to come together to tackle our sectors emissions and also co-develop impactful solutions for other sectors.
