The Satellite Applications Catapult is undertaking a project with Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University in northern Peru to improve healthcare provision in the remote areas of the Amazonia. The project will analyse and research the technological gaps that can better support patients and practitioners in the local Peruvian communities. The project focuses predominately at maternal, newborn and child health, as well as tropical disease.

This is the second workshop within the scope of the project, it is preceded by the first workshop organised in the UK in September 2016.

This event will bring together several decision making organisations within Peru’s health and social care sector. The aim of this follow-up workshop is to disseminate the project objectives and achievements so far. The attendees will also hear about past and ongoing initiatives and experiences from Peruvian organisations in eHealth and mHealth. The workshop will finally conclude with a round table session to discuss the sector’s needs from a government’s perspective as input into the project’s long-term objectives.
