SMEs from across multiple industries are being encouraged to attend a special cross-Catapult event designed to help businesses turn their ideas into commercial ventures.

The participating Catapults – Satellite Applications, Digital, Future Cities, Offshore Renewal Energy and Transport Systems – are part of Innovate UK’s network of seven UK technology and innovation companies established to drive economic growth through the commercialisation of research.

The event taking place on 2 December 2014 will be an opportunity for SMEs to meet representatives from the Catapults and discover how they could benefit from one of more of the Catapults’ expertise and networks. Entrepreneurs who have seen their companies flourish after taking the initial steps of transforming their ideas into a commercial venture, will also be attending the event.

For those businesses seeking funding opportunities, Innovate UK will be on hand to advise on the various channels open to SMEs as they seek to grow.

Stuart Martin, CEO of the Satellite Applications Catapult, said: “Since being established nearly two years ago, the Catapult network is making a significant impact in the industries in which we are focused. This is evidenced by the number of SMEs already engaged and benefiting from our expertise, facilities and access to wider sector knowledge.”
Stuart continued, “This event has been organised to enable more SMEs throughout the UK to become aware of our capabilities and reach, so they too can see the commercial benefits of engaging with us.”

The event is being held at the new Digital Catapult Centre in London from 16.30 to 19.30. If you are interested in attending, please register online via: bit.ly/CatapultSMEs.
